A proud veteran, Bill served eight years in the Marine Corps, where he developed discipline, leadership, and a commitment to service.After transitioning out of the military, Bill faced personal challenges with substance use and sought treatment for drugs and alcohol. His journey through recovery ignited a passion for helping others navigate their own paths to healing through the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. With over three years of experience in business development, Bill is dedicated to expanding outreach efforts and ensuring that individuals, particularly veterans, receive the support and resources they deserve.At Windansea Recovery, Bill exemplifies compassion and resilience, believing strongly in the transformative power of recovery. Dr. Rueben Vaisman-Tzachor brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Windansea Recovery. He served in many important roles at Seasons Malibu primarily as The Primary Therapist for 6 years.
He obtained his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in 1993 and has been a Licensed Psychologist since 1997. He has taught as an adjunct professor of clinical and forensic psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles and others for over 25 years and served as an Attending Psychologist at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for 16 years.
Dr. Vaisman is a Fellow at the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute, a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychology Specialties in Clinical and Forensic Psychology, a Fellow at the American Psychotherapy Association, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Certification in Homeland Security. He has conducted research and published over twenty professional journal articles and has written or co-authored eight books and three psychology-based novels. Many of his research articles are about addiction and chronic mental disorders. Additionally, he has served as an expert witness for various courts, including the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
During six years of counter-terrorism service as a navy captain and gun-ship commander for the Israeli Navy, he developed an expertise in terrorism prevention. He was subsequently recruited to head a research project at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico to study and produce a national terrorism prevention protocol for the George W. Bush administration. The project was subsequently integrated by the CIA into the pursuit of Osama Bin Laden and has been adopted into the official curriculum at the FBI Academy. Dr. Vaisman-Tzachor is a writer, reader, and speaker of English, Spanish, and Hebrew.
Mike is currently a Doctoral Candidate at California Southern University. He graduated from The University of California, Berkeley for undergrad. Then received his masters from the University of Santa Monica in Spiritual Psychology. He has been facilitating and counseling clients for over 15 years to address substance abuse, trauma, mood disorder, and eating disorders.
He has also worked with veterans to help them process and heal PTSD from their time in service. Mike decided to become more specifically involved in the addition field as he saw the great need for therapy that specialized in recovery and addressing the underlying issues. Using a very open and intuitive approach, he is easily able to connect with clients to help guide them to a supportive and successful recovery.
John E. O’Brien, a native of El Cajon, CA, has dedicated his life to sobriety and mentorship. With 18 years of continuous sobriety, he has been an active and selfless member of Alcoholics Anonymous, guiding countless young men and women toward recovery.
Beyond his commitment to AA, John is a devoted father of four, a loving husband, and an avid BMX rider. His mission is to be a strong father figure, a supportive husband, and a role model for young men in San Diego seeking a clean and purposeful life. Through his unwavering dedication, John continues to inspire and uplift those striving for sobriety and personal growth.
Brittany’s passion for working with clients as a case manager truly sets her apart in the field of addiction recovery. With over four years in the field, she believes that each individual deserves personalized attention and support tailored to their unique circumstances. With a compassionate approach, Brittany takes the time to understand her clients’ needs, challenges, and aspirations, which allows her to develop effective treatment plans that resonate with them.

Kyle Wesihan is a Surf Instructor at Windansea Recovery, where he integrates surf therapy into the therapeutic process for clients in the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs (PHP/IOP). A lifelong surfer and former sponsored athlete with Rusty Surfboards, Kyle brings both professional experience and a deep personal connection to the ocean into his work.
He uses surfing as a dynamic medium to help individuals build resilience, manage stress, and reconnect with themselves in a natural, empowering environment. His sessions emphasize mindfulness, body awareness, and personal growth through the challenges and triumphs of the waves. Kyle creates a safe, encouraging space where clients of all skill levels can experience the healing power of the ocean.

Genevieve Bourgeois grew up in La Jolla, California, and has been a dedicated athlete since childhood. In 2013, she became a certified yoga teacher, a decision that profoundly shaped her life. Since then, she has been a full-time yoga teacher and a partner at YogaFūzn in La Jolla.
Teaching yoga gives her the opportunity to help others heal, grow, and connect—physically, mentally, and spiritually. Yoga has opened countless doors for Genevieve, both personally and professionally, and she remains deeply grateful for the transformative gift it continues to be in her life.
